Web Developer Resource Index: Semantic Web
The Semantic Web is a vision that Tim Berners-Lee has for the future of the WWW, one in which
information is designed for machines (computers) as well as humans, so that humans will
evenually be able to use it more effectively.
Think of the Web, not as a huge collection of individual resources, but a global database that allows you to find any information on any subject quickly and accurately.
RDF is the technology that will enable this transformation.

Introducing SPARQL: Querying the Semantic WebThis tutorial, the first of a three-part series, introduces SPARQL, a query language and data access protocol for the Semantic Web. SPARQL is defined in terms of the W3C's RDF data model and will work for any data source that can be mapped into RDF. [1561]
