Web Developer Resource Index: Safari
Apple’s Safari Web browser is designed specifically for Mac OS X, it is fast, free, and has
excellent Web standards support. This little browser is gaining a huge following, and the
latest version offers RSS features that put its competitors to shame.
Safari’s features included tabbed browsing, pop-up blocking and excellent security support. It will quickly import your existing MacIE favorites. Also included are an integrated Google search toolbar, bookmark and download managers, and form autofill.
Safari uses the WebCore open-source rendering engine, derived from the KDE KHTML code library. Also from KDE comes the JavaScriptCore KJS library, enhanced with Perl regular expressions (PCRE).
Extensiblity on par with Firefox is lacking, but if you want raw browser speed, Safari delivers. True to is new name, the latest version also has an excellent interface for syndicating RSS news feeds.
Safari is now available for Windows as well.

Apple Safari RSSOut of 10, the editor rates it at 7.7 and the average user rating is 8.7. Hmm... The skinny: Much improved page rendering; has JavaScript speeds that equal the performance of Firefox; broad standards support; integrated RSS reader; Private Browsing. [1420]
