Web Developer Resource Index: Databases
A Database is a highly structured collection of information stored on a computer and accessible through a set of software methods. In database theory terminology, a database is a set of knowledge or facts, while a database system is the software used to query this information. Relational databases are based on mathematical set theory, but any further discussion of database theory is beyond the scope of this resource directory.
For the purposes of this application, I am categorizing only open-source RDBMS, and am limiting the resource listings further to those that are most popular among Web developers.
